Welcome to Notes From the Farm
Welcome to Notes From the Farm.

This will probably be a low volume site for new content. However, I hope it is a high volume site for comments and poll votes. You don't have to register to post comments. In fact I don't accept registration for this site. I will delete off topic and spam comments so this site is not a free for all.

From time to time (probably every two weeks) I will try to present an idea or concept that makes common horse sense. Usually each one will be accompanied by a poll so the general public can vote and even present their comments.

My main goal for this site is to get people to think about a few things in a common sense manner. Even better will be if that thinking style infects the rest of their lives and improves the world as a whole.

Title:  Health Care Public Option -- Solution

Health Care ReformThere is a loud roar of protest over the government providing a public option alternative to health care insurance.

Part of this protest is over the non-existent (and never was -- go to www.factcheck.org) "Death Board" inclusion in the proposed bill. Another part is that everything the government runs is FUBAR'd in short order.

The solution is for the government to:

1) Establish the minimum policy of what/how is covered.
2) Establish a fixed price for the minimum policy. The government is already doing this type of thing. Look at medicare reimbursement.

If I became Dictator of the USTwo wrongs don't mean no crime was committed. No longer will a "violation" of a criminal's rights give them a free pass.

Flap. Oink.
When pigs fly :')

If by some end of the world event I became Dictator of the US. I would keep the Senators, Representatives and President in place because:

1) That probably is the most safe place to keep them.
2) I am not that ambitious and will just occasionaly tell them what they will or will not pass.

Changes to Corporate Tax Laws - 10/09/2005 Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version

Current notes

Change the tax laws.
Remove corporate income taxes and change Capital Gains.

Their have been several press articles lately proposing that corporate incomes taxes be removed in order to encourage business growth in the United States. There are more very good reasons to support this.

First is that corporations are not people. They are a legal contrivance that seems to create a legal individual. Even bankruptcy refers to the "estate" of the company as if it was a deceased person. There are valid and good reasons to the creation of these corporate individuals but taxation is not one of them. Part of the problem is the so called double taxation of income. Once when the corporation reports the profit and again when a true individual (the stockholders) reports the dividend (which is the profit transfered to them) to the IRS. While most everyone believes that double taxation is illegal it isn't in practice and that is the subject of another discussion.
