Two wrongs don't mean no crime was committed.No longer will a "violation" of a criminal's rights give them a free pass.

All crimes will be handled separately.

Even if an officer beats a confession out of a murderer there are two crimes, not a wash. The officer will be prosecuted for at least one crime. The murderer will still be prosecuted for murder. The confession can even be used, just in full context. The jury will be told how the confession was obtained. It will probably be worthless unless there was something in it that no one but the guilty knew at the time.

Why should a criminal get away with their crime because their rights were violated and an honest person doesn't get a Next Crime Free pass?

If an officer stops someone they suspect of murder and forces them to confess the honest person can only sue for police mistreatment. Why should the guilty person be able to gain any more?

Two crimes. Two charges. Two trials. Two guilty persons.

If you are buy a hot beverage and dump it in your lap while driving and file a lawsuit over it a conservator will be assigned to you.

If you are dumb enough to do this you are not inteligent enough to be living under your own control.

The conservator will be instructed to take all your assets and give you allowance that you will have to account for each and every day. If your accounting is missing or indicative of the above type of activity your allowance will be cut.

You will not be allowed to file any court actions on your own. Only the conservator can do that for you and they will look first for your own stupidity as the cause.

All payments court ordered can not be discharged in Bankruptcy.

Many times the court orders payments that are to make of for past bad deads such as taking or destroying someone else's property without permision. This is not a credit situation. They didn't borrow anything and the person receiving the payments didn't willingly extend any credit.

Yet the payments can be ended through a bankruptcy claim.

All legislative items will deal with one single subject in the strictest interpitation.

Even with the detailed accountablity of roll call votes politicians have a nack for hiding their sneaky deeds within large bills.

By making bills deal with only one item (and maybe, no make that definatly, the financing) they can no longer hide things so easily. Also, it makes it much more obvious when they trade votes.

All laws will apply to everyone.

Currently the politicians exempt themselves from several key laws.

I have read of politicians in Nebraska getting away with speeding because the legislature was in session. The politicians claim they deserve to be exempted to prevent disruptions of their duties.

I have also been told that even the labor laws don't apply to the politicians. Their staff is not protected by even the basic overtime rules.

If by some end of the world event I became Dictator of the US. I would keep the Senators, Representatives and President in place because:

1) That probably is the most safe place to keep them.
2) I am not that ambitious and will just occasionaly tell them what they will or will not pass.

The first order will be that all votes by Senators and Representatives will be a roll call vote. Even the vote to break for a potty visit would be detailed for each politician.

Too many votes are taken by a voice call and this allows the politicians to later claim they voted on the popular side but they never lent their voice to that side.

Since the technology is available the results of each vote shall be available on the internet within an hour of the vote. For amendments that may not be submitted electronically ahead of time the web site for that vote would have a note with a brief description and the exact wording will be linked with...

Change the tax laws.
Remove corporate income taxes and change Capital Gains.

Their have been several press articles lately proposing thatcorporate incomes taxes be removed in order to encourage businessgrowth in the United States. There are more very good reasons tosupport this.

First is that corporations are not people. They are a legalcontrivance that seems to create a legal individual. Even bankruptcyrefers to the "estate" of the company as if it was a deceased person.There are valid and good reasons to the creation of these corporateindividuals but taxation is not one of them. Part of the problem is theso called double taxation of income. Once when the corporation reportsthe profit and again when a true individual (the stockholders) reportsthe dividend (which is the profit transfered to them) to the IRS. Whilemost everyone believes that double taxation is illegal it isn't inpractice and that is the subject of another discussion.

The Council Bluffs area recently saw the start of the use of cameras to catch those that run red lights.
Opponents quickly claimed that this was going to create more serious problems because the cameras would cause an increase in the number of rear end collisions. They claimed that there would be a bigger increase in rear end crashes then there would be a reduction of crashes from someone running the red light. In the first week of having cameras at 5 intersections in Council Bluffs the cameras captured 221 red light violations according to the Omaha World Herald newspaper.

The opponents claimed that the yellow lights were set for too short of an interval and that drivers would stop too quickly if they knew they would be ticketed for running a red light because of the camera.

They conveniently omitted two critical details. First, the camera doesn't take a picture unless the car enters the intersection after the light is ...

Four months without new articles!!!

Maybe starting this site was some sort of curse.

Well, I don't know how to apologize for the delay but the health problems in the family quickly resurfaced in a critical way. It involved a three month stay in the hospital that included three and a half weeks in ICU.

I am working on a couple of new articles and hope to have the first one up soon. So, please check back.

I don't think I will revisit the HIPPA item even though I've got more material now thanks to the extended exposure above.

I am a week behind in adding anew article this week and am very sorry for that. Poor way to get a newsite off to a start.
There have been some healthproblems in the familyand they basically consumed a whole week. However, that did give meinspiration for this weeks article.
